“Ek Sulagta Sawaal”: A Cinematic Call to Action
At the heart of Vadiraj’s oeuvre is the critically acclaimed Hindi short film ‘Ek Sulagta Sawaal’, which delves into the burning issue of safety, protection and security of the girl child, the horrific realities of child abuse and sexual abuse, highlighting the urgent need for social and systemic reforms. The film highlights the trauma suffered by the victims and the proactive measures taken by the government.
‘Ek Sulagata Sawaal’ wins big at prestigious film festivals
‘Ek Sulagata Sawaal’ received widespread recognition, winning seven prestigious awards for Best Film, Best Production House, Best Executive Producer, Best Music, Best Director, Best Photography Director and Best Sound Editing at the 4th Marathwada International Film Festival held at Chhatrapati Shivaji Mandir, Mumbai in November 2024.
It is a matter of great pride that the film was awarded the prestigious ‘Dada Saheb Phalke Janmabhoomi Award’ for the Best Short Film at the 11th Nashik International Film Festival recently in March 2025.
Accolades and recognition
Vadiraj’s unwavering commitment to social causes through cinematic expression earned him the “Bharat Ka Gaurav Award” held in Mumbai by the Indian Cineyug Academy in January 2025, recognizing his outstanding contribution to arts, culture and social impact.
Musical tribute to divinity
Including film production, Vadiraja’s lyrical talent was showcased through his devotional music. He wrote two heart-warming songs – ‘Chalo Ayodhya Jayenge’, sung by legendary singer Sudesh Bhosle, and ‘Prabhu Ramlalla’, voiced by Kavita Ram, composed by Amar Prabhakar Desai. These songs, released to commemorate the Prana Pratishtha of ‘Prabhu Ramlalla’ and inauguration of ‘Shri Ram Mandir’ in Ayodhya in January 2024, inspired audiences across the country.
To date, Vadiraj has written lyrics for 14 songs in Hindi and Marathi, including composing the campaign song during the May 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
Literary Endeavours: Documenting Sacred Heritage
An erudite writer, Vadiraj is preparing a coffee table book on Ayodhya, Shri Ramjanmabhoomi Shri Ram Mandir followed by a focus on Mathura, Shri Krishnajanmabhoomi, Kashi and Kashi Vishwanath Mandir. Future projects include books on tourism and pilgrimage sites across India.
His linguistic proficiency spans across multiple languages, a testimony to his deep cultural connect and he has served as honourable editor for various social organisations.
Upcoming Project: “Veerta Ki Aag”
Vadiraj is making his directorial debut with the Hindi film ‘Veerta Ki Aag’ based on his original screenplay. The story focuses on the brave journey of a soldier serving in the Indian Army in Pahalgam, Kashmir, who foils infiltration and terrorist attacks along the borders of Pakistan and Bangladesh. The film explores themes of patriotism, sacrifice and the emotional burden that falls on the families of the defence forces during war. It features a powerful patriotic song written by Vadiraj, sung by Monu Rathod of IIFA-nominated track ‘Jaako Rakhe Saiyaan’ fame from the film ‘Kill’ produced by Dharma Productions.
