Early Life

✅Draupadi Murmu was born on 20 June 1958 in a Santali family in Uparbeda village of Baidaposi area of Rairangpur, Odisha. His father Biranchi Narayan Tudu was a farmer and sarpanch of the village panchayat.

✅Murmu’s primary education was only up to first class in the village, after which he was sent to Bhubaneswar for further good education from where he took secondary education, after which he received a bachelor’s degree (B.A) from Rama Devi Women’s College, Bhubaneswar.

✅She was married in 1980 to a man named Shyam Charan Murmu, who worked in a bank, who died on August 1, 2014.

Career

✅From 1979 to 1983, Murmu worked as a junior assistant in the Irrigation Department of the Government of Odisha. From 1994 to 1997, she worked as a teacher at the school Sri Aurobindo Integral Education and Research Center in Rairangpur.
