It was in the beginning of his story when he dreamt of playing cricket professionally. With the riches, he had to go through financial struggles from the onset. Rather than seeing these as discouraging things, he saw them as inspirational barriers. Inspired by his dreams, he formed projects aimed at helping young people out of poor homes, training more than 4000 athletes many of whom are now national and international representatives of India.
Many have recognized the work of Dr. Rane. He is the recipient of the National Youth Inspiration Award 2018 and is part of the World Book of Records (London), Web World Record (USA), India Book of Records and of the Harvard Book of Records for his record scores. The contribution of Dr. Rane to grassroots sports development has been tremendous as indicated by 15 National Awards, 5 State Awards and 139 District Awards.
Dr. Rane has attained a Ph.D. in Social and Sports Studies from University of Estonia and honorary doctorates from Delhi Institute, and Himachal Pradesh Institution.
