AK RAPX is a living testimony to the heaving hip-hop culture of Bombay, but he is also a pioneer, both in terms of his own persona and in terms of his own kind. Born in the small lanes of Gilbert Hill Road, Arbaz was reared in a position of dispossessing criminals and little privilege. “I feel like I am a hood baby,” he shares expressing himself about his being raised in a hood. Here in this environment, he went to seek solace in the music of legends: XXXTentacion and 2Pac. Their influence would later color his sound.
His interest in rap flamed out in 10th grade when he realized a corporate job wasn’t his. Rather, he had visions of himself as a rapper, and the course of events seemed to allow it. AK RAPX’s début was rather modest, with shared rap videos on Facebook. A tiny creative outlet soon burgeoned into much more, because of committed online fans. His music went beyond borders with the support they gave his music, reaching people in India and outside the borders. In 2022, he put out his audio-visual One Side Killer, releasing individual tracks throughout the year, culminating in the title track on February 27, 2022. Influence of Rap to his Music
For AK RAPX, rap isn’t really something that he is into, it is a perspective through which he views music and life. “With the help of rap, I realized Indian music, sur, and taal,” he says. The themes in rap which quite regularly highlight intense, waking up issues resonated with him and formed the music he creates. His style is the fusion of the violent energy of such Western influences as XXXTentacion or Tupac and their Indian counterparts: rhythmicity of Indian music, but with the global personal feel.
Who Is AK RAPX?
The youngest of his two siblings, Arbaz Ansari was born on 19th January 2001 in Andheri, Mumbai and up brought him up in a tight knit family. It was his father, Taslim Ansari, and his mother, the homemaker, Firdos Ansari, who brought him up together with his brothers and sisters; Due to her then husband, she had birthing bed brothers who included two sisters, Rajiya and Ruksar, and a brother, Imran. Arbaz was a Bharati Vidya Mandir Hindi Night High School student until the 10th grade, when he started falling in love with the music. Other than rapping, he has always been attracted to the larger ‘world’ of musical artistry which has lit up in his many-sided career.
